    The Connected Factory as a Competitive Advantage – How Junghans Increases Safety, Productivity, and Flexibility Through Intelligent Automation

    Using the example of the plastics processor Junghans, fpt robotics and SSI SCHÄFER demonstrate how intelligent networking of injection molding machines, robotics, automated guided vehicles, automated packaging technology, warehouse technology, and IT creates a fully automated value chain. By decoupling production and shipping with an automated miniload system, the foundation for flexible 24/7 production was established. At the same time, manual transports were reduced, space optimized, and real-time transparency over inventories and orders created.

    The presentation offers insights into the planning, implementation, and integration of a complex transformation project and shows how companies can sustainably increase their safety, efficiency, flexibility, and resilience through intelligent production logistics.
